Shania Twain Stays Strong After Split

"Life has to continue – that's her motto."

That's what sources are telling PEOPLE magazine about Shania Twain in her quest to pick up the pieces after a devastating split from her husband, music producer Robert "Mutt" Lange. Twain was spotted shopping Monday with her son Eja, who turned seven on Tuesday. Witnesses tell the magazine she was "bubbly" and "all smiles."

"She is working hard to get over her split from Mutt," says a source. She is a strong woman."

"There's still a lot of recovery to come but she's using the help of her friends and family," echoes another source. "On a scale of one to 10, she is certainly not there yet but she is progressing."

Twain and Lange announced their separation in May, after 14 years of marriage. Lange is accused of having an affair with a close family friend, but he denies the allegations.
