10 Sexiest Album Covers in Country Music
You can’t judge an album by its cover, but you can certainly ogle it.
It’s hard to find a country music CD without a photo of its featured artist looking his or her hottest. From Carrie Underwood‘s leg-tacular ‘Blown Away’ album cover to the two pots of gold underneath Dolly Parton‘s ‘Rainbow,’ country singers have long made their album covers sizzle with sex appeal. The Boot presents our picks for the 10 sexiest album covers in country music.
1. Carrie Underwood, ‘Blown Away’
We’re definitely blown away by Carrie’s gorgeous photo on the cover of this album. Dressed in a dreamy gray dress with a generous slit showing off her toned legs, the sexy singer shows off a new side of her beauty with this sultry cover.
2. Shania Twain, ‘Up!’
Shania Twain‘s 2002 double-disc, ‘Up!,’ features theCanadian beauty in a sheer white tank top that leaves little to the imagination. A triple-platinum seller, the album boasts a No. 1 hit, ‘I’m Gonna Getcha Good,’ plus several Top 10 tunes, including ‘Forever and For Always’ and ‘It Only Hurts When I’m Breathing.’
3. Shelby Lynne, ‘Love Shelby’
This 2001 critically-acclaimed CD showed blond beauty Shelby Lynne in a white tank top and barely-there cut-off jean shorts. With a strategically-placed mirror that gives fans a view of both sides, we’re pretty sure the songstress gained an entire new legion of followers after this sexy cover.
4. Keith Urban, ‘Get Closer’
It’s partly the look in his eyes, and partly the woman under the covers in the bed behind him, that make this one of our favorite CD covers of Keith Urban‘s albums. Of course, the way he fills out that classic white t-shirt doesn’t hurt either. The 2010 album includes three of Keith’s No. 1 hits, including ‘You Gonna Fly.’
5. Dolly Parton, ‘Rainbow’
Dolly was almost 42 years old when she released this seductive album cover, which shows off her petite, toned figure, as well as her most well-known assets. While the 1987 record failed to release a successful single, we have a feeling her male fans barely noticed.
6. Tim McGraw, ‘Greatest Hits, Volume II’
This collection of some of Tim McGraw‘s biggest hits also shows off some of his best physical attributes. Dressed in a white t-shirt and tight jeans, and showing his physique both in the flesh and in a reflection, the double-platinum album includes his testosterone-laden hits, ‘The Cowboy in Me’ and ‘Real Good Man.’ The CD hit shelves in 2006 — one year before Tim turned the big 4-0, and we’re guessing he can still fit into those jeans today.
7. Sara Evans, ‘No Place That Far’
After disappointing sales of her debut album, ‘Three Chords and the Truth,’ Sara Evans made sure her 1998 sophomore album, ‘No Place That Far,’ would get noticed. Dressed in jeans — and nothing else — the brunette beauty captured plenty of attention, which undoubtedly helped the album earn gold certification, and helped her score her first No. 1 hit for the title track.
8. Lorrie Morgan, ‘War Paint’
She’s got legs, and she knows how to use them! Lorrie Morgan‘s gorgeous gams steal the spotlight on the cover of this 1994 album, which spawned two Top 40 tunes, including the appropriately-titled single, ‘My Night to Howl.’
9. Kenny Chesney, ‘No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems’
‘No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems’ remains one of Kenny Chesney‘s best-selling albums of his career, and we can’t help but think it’s at least partly due to his ridiculously buff arms featured on the CD cover. The 2002 quadruple-platinum album placed five Top 10 hits, including the title track and the thought-provoking tune, ‘The Good Stuff.’
10. Tammy Wynette, ‘Let’s Get Together’
The flowing blond hair, long red nails and dress cut down to there … it’s easy to see by this 1977 album cover why Tammy Wynette and Dolly Parton were kindred spirits. In addition to its now-classic title track, this vinyl record also includes ‘Lovin’ You, I Do’ and ‘Cheatin’ Is.’
