Even though American Idol's upcoming season will be its last, the show will go out with a bang. Scott Borchetta, head of Big Machine Label Group, will return to the TV singing competition, along with judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr.

Borchetta has now confirmed that he will reprise his role as a mentor for the Idol contestants; he first signed on for the show in Season 14. As an individual who personally helped craft the careers of Taylor Swift and Florida Georgia Line, Borchetta's expertise is valuable.

“As an artist development platform, we’ve proven that all the work done behind the scenes at American Idol, along with surviving the rigors of the intense live shows, can properly prepare a winner for a real-world music career opportunity,” Borchetta tells USA Today. "... [I] have every intention of working with the team to develop a great new talent to land on Big Machine Records/Universal.”

After Season 14 of Idol, Borchetta signed winner Nick Fradiani, who recently released his debut single, "Beautiful Life," to Big Machine/Universal.

Country star Urban's return to Idol was announced in May, when Fox revealed that the upcoming season would be the show's last. In addition to Borchetta and the judges, host Ryan Seacrest will also return, making him the only star to be part of all 15 seasons.

Auditions are currently underway for Season 15 of American Idol. The upcoming season begins in January and will be Urban's fourth season judging on the show.
