Country singer Sara Evans and rock band REO Speedwagon will take the stage together for an upcoming taping of CMT Crossroads.

The new episode will be Evans' third time on the Crossroads stage. She's also performed with Maroon 5 and Joe Walsh.

"We met Sara Evans when REO played with Brad Paisley at the Sony Music Nashville annual cruise, and we all became fast friends,” says REO Speedwagon’s Kevin Cronin. “When we got the offer to do CMT Crossroads with her, we jumped at the chance to hear Sara's sweet voice on our songs, and to put our spin on hers. Sara put me at ease right away, and her energy is contagious."

Evans also sings the praises of the classic rockers, saying, “I’ve been a huge fan of REO Speedwagon for as long as I can remember. Their songs have been a part of the soundtrack of my life, and I’m thrilled to be joining them on stage for CMT Crossroads. It truly is a dream come true!"

Adds the "Suds in the Bucket" singer, "They sound just as amazing today as they did when I first heard them on the radio growing up in Missouri" (quote via USA Today).

Crossroads has hosted numerous other unique pairings, including Brantley Gilbert and Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Band Perry and Fall Out Boy, Taylor Swift with Def Leppard, Luke Bryan with the Doobie Brothers, Brooks & Dunn with ZZ Top, Martina McBride and Pat Benatar, Lee Ann Womack and John Legend, Vince Gill with Sting and Lady Antebellum with Stevie Nicks.

CMT Crossroads: REO Speedwagon and Sara Evans will premiere on Sept. 19 at 10PM ET on CMT.
