The country music community is mourning the loss of Rob Bironas, former Tennessee Titan and husband of country singer Rachel Bradshaw, who was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Nashville on Saturday night (Sept. 20).

Bironas was traveling at a high speed when he lost control of his SUV in the 800 block of Battery Lane, not far from his home, according to Metro Police. His car went off the road and hit several trees before stopping upside-down in a drainage culvert. Police spokesman Don Aaron says there is no evidence that alcohol played a role in the crash.

Bironas was pronounced dead upon his arrival at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was 36 years old.

The kicker spent nine seasons with the Titans before his release from the team in March. He and Bradshaw, daughter of Pro Football Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw, married in June.

Many artists have shared their memories and condolences via Twitter.
