A new version of Brooks & Dunn's latest hit, 'Cowgirls Don't Cry,' has hit country radio -- this one with guest vocals by Reba McEntire. The duo performed the song with McEntire on last week's CMA Awards, just before they re-released the track as a duet. Ronnie Dunn explains that McEntire was actually the inspiration behind the song.

"I was thinking of Reba when I wrote it and how she grew up," Dunn tells Country Standard Time, explaining Reba's rural upbringing.

This isn't the first time these longtime friends have collaborated. Ten years ago, they topped the charts together with 'If You See Him/If You See Her.'

A video for the 'Cowgirls Don't Cry' duet, also featuring Reba, is expected within the next month.
