Rascal Flatts recently taped a four-song acoustic set for our partner site, Taste of Country, and one of the songs they performed was a new balled, 'Riot.'

The song appears on Flatts' newly-released 'Rewind' album, which just dropped on Tuesday (May 13). The group knew they wanted to record it the first time they heard it.

“I couldn’t wait to get on the road and play it for the guys,” Jay DeMarcus says in the clip above, which is part of Taste of Country's 'Off the Record' series.

'Rewind' is the award-winning trio's ninth studio album. Working with producer Howard Benson, they came up with a more stripped-down approach than previous projects.

This very special performance of 'Riot' puts the focus squarely on the quality of the song, as well as Gary LeVox' lead vocal and the group's signature harmonies.

The group also performed 'Rewind' at the session. Check out that performance here, and check back next week for two additional tracks that Rascal Flatts performed exclusively for 'Off the Record.'

The trio are also giving away a signed copy of 'Rewind.' Enter to win below.
