Rascal Flatts have come clean about lip-syncing their performance on the ACM Awards Sunday night (April 6).

The award-winning trio performed their newest single, 'Rewind,' which is the title song of their upcoming album. But after the broadcast, fans were speculating that the performance was lip-synced.

USA Today even mentioned it in their coverage of the show. "Flatts sounded as perfect performing their new single as they've ever sounded on television," Brian Mansfield wrote. "Maybe a little too perfect."

In a post to Twitter and Facebook on Monday night (April 7), the group admitted the performance was canned, explaining that they were forced into that course of action after singer Gary LeVox lost his voice in advance of the broadcast.

The Flatts are set to release their new album on May 13. They will kick off their Rewind Tour on May 16 in St. Louis, Mo. Keep up with their upcoming concert schedule here.
