"I just found a guy laying in the road," a man tells a Grayson County 911 operator in audio released by the Sheriff's office this week. The man was clearly distraught by what he was seeing in front of him -- a man who initially appeared to be dead but turned out to be a sleeping Randy Travis. (Listen to the 911 call below.)

The country icon had just run his 1998 Pontiac Trans Am off the road near his home in Tioga, Texas, crashing it into some construction barricades. (That's the same car he was in when he was arrested back in February for public intoxication.) Police arrived quickly to the scene to find Randy naked with, according to a statement from the Sheriff's office, "a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath and several signs of intoxication." The country star refused a sobriety test at the scene. He was later given a blood test, the results of which are pending.

The police statement goes on to say that on the way to jail, the troubled singer "made threats to shoot and kill the troopers working the case." That resulted in a felony charge of retaliation, on top of a misdemeanor DWI charge against the country star.

Randy was released from jail Wednesday after posting a $21,500 bond.
