Nashville may be in its final season, but viewers are still meeting new characters in the show's fictional country music universe. On Thursday night (Feb. 1), fans will meet Alannah, played by rising artist Rainee Blake; The Boot has a sneak peek at a couple of her scenes.

Blake's Alannah is a Nashville newcomer. The singer-songwriter starts out as a backup singer, but it won't be long until she's discovered for the star she's meant to be. In the clip above, viewers will see Alannah performing onstage with Will Lexington (Chris Carmack), Gunnar Scott (Sam Palladio) and Avery Barkley (Jonathan Jackson); the song is "Hold On (Not Leaving You Behind)," written by Jessie Early and Angela Lauer.

Before she gets there, though, Alannah has to get the guys' approval; press play below to watch her "interview" with the three. Could there be something brewing between the newbie and the now-unattached Gunnar?

Lionsgate casting discovered Blake in West Hollywood, Calif., when they saw her performing in the one-woman show Take Me as I Am: An Evening With Joni Mitchell. The show, about Mitchell's life and music, is directed by Joanna Wineburg and features Blake portraying the famous singer-songwriter.

Originally from the Sydney, Australia, area, Blake released her self-titled debut EP in 2014. She pulls from jazz, blues and folk and combines her love of vintage sounds and modern improvisation.
