Radio Disney Country to Launch With Live Broadcast From 2015 CMA Awards

A new country music platform from Disney will make its debut at the 2015 CMA Awards.

Radio Disney Country, "a modern, country music-focused destination for families," will begin its broadcasts on Wednesday (Nov. 4) live from the 2015 CMA Awards red carpet. The channel's new on-air personality, Betsy Spina (from SiriusXM's The Highway channel) will host the inaugural broadcast, which will include interviews with some of today's biggest country music names as they walk the CMA Awards red carpet.

Radio Disney Country, which will be available via the Radio Disney app, will feature both today's big-name country stars and up-and-coming artists, including Hunter Hayes, Maddie & Tae and Kelsea Ballerini, among others.

“I think it’s absolutely brilliant,” Hayes says of Radio Disney Country. “When I heard about it, I just lit up with joy ... It just makes me so happy that there’s something like this for us to find these new artists. This is a great place to come to discover something new and for these new artists to have a platform to say what they want to say and to be themselves.”

Radio Disney Country has already been downloaded more than 6 million times via the Radio Disney app, which you can download for both iPhone and Android here.
