Nicole Kidman OK Keith Urban’s Career Is ‘Bigger’ Than Hers

Combine a successful Oscar-winning actress with one of country's hottest entertainers, and it would seem only natural that there might be a little conflict over whose career takes priority. But not if the couple is Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban.

Nicole famously left the bright lights of Hollywood to move to a farm outside of Nashville when she married Keith. "There are certain limitations to my career because I'm based here," Nicole admits to Ladies Home Journal. "And that's cool. Keith has enormous ambitions, which I support. His tours and albums are much bigger than what I'm doing right now."

To outsiders, it may seem like the in-demand movie star made a huge sacrifice to follow her husband, but she says it's actually the life she always wanted. "Even when I was living like a gypsy, running from movie to movie, living out of a suitcase, I think I always had a dream of this family life, a vision of it off in the future ... when you're happy I think you can live anywhere."

Not that she is the only one making concessions. Even though Nicole relocated across the country (although the power couple still own homes in Los Angeles and Australia), she says it's their combined effort that makes the whole thing work.

"Keith and I have a very honest, profound marriage, which we both contribute to every day," she says. "We have a phrase, 'Does this contribute to the good of our union?' Because that's what's most important."

Happily married and the mother of Sunday Rose, (along with Isabella and Connor from her first marriage to Tom Cruise), Nicole says that even with the early difficulties of her marriage, including her husband's stint in rehab for alcohol addiction just a few short months after their wedding, she never questioned her decision to remarry. "I believe in the power of love, the way it can heal. The more you keep choosing it -- because there are times when you can choose to be angry at the person or to love him -- the more it nourishes a family."

Usually found at home or on the road with her husband, Nicole the actress was recently was lured away to star opposite Daniel Day-Lewis in the upcoming musical, 'Nine,' featuring Sophia Loren, Kate Hudson, Penelope Cruz and Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas. The movie hits theaters Christmas Day. Nicole the wife and mother is getting ready to join her husband as he takes his Escape Together World Tour to Australia, after which they'll spend the holidays with their families.
