Ballerini joined Evans onstage at Rockhampton, Australia's Rockin' Rocky, where Evans performed on Dec. 30. "She was like, 'This is the first show I've ever been to as the wife,'" Evans said onstage. "And I said, 'This is the first time I'm performing "I Do" as the husband, so I'm just going to sing this to you.'" As he begins playing the song's introductory chords and singing its first lyrics, Evans looks right at Ballerini, who's sitting a few steps away on a speaker and swaying along to the music.

Evans, who released "I Do" as a single in December of 2017, has always been open about the fact that Ballerini was the inspiration behind the song. A recent post on the singer's Instagram account shows the couple standing together in the water on a beach, with the simple caption "I do."

Evans and Ballerini were married on Dec. 2, 2017, almost a year after announcing their engagement in 2016. The ceremony was held in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and the couple exchanged custom David Yurman rings each engraved with a special message, reports People.

Evans' tour resumes on Jan. 11 in Athens, Ga., and continues throughout the early summer. Unfortunately, Ballerini won't be able to see many more of his performances in the early months, as she is also headed out on the road next month, kicking off at Birmingham, Ala.'s Alabama Theatre on Feb. 8.
