Miranda Lambert may be making her big screen debut soon.

The singer is collaborating on the script for the upcoming comedy 'Something in the Water.' The film is being written by Cindy McCreery as well as Trey Fanjoy, who country fans will recognize as the director behind many favorite music videos.

The project will feature a female-led cast, with Lambert playing a role as one of five women who challenge their men in a bass fishing competition. Fanjoy is also hoping to direct.

Lambert and Fanjoy have been longtime collaborators. Fanjoy directed Lambert's first music video, and the duo went on to work together on videos for many of her hit songs, including 'Kerosene,' 'The House That Built Me,' 'Mama's Broken Heart' and her recently-released video with Carrie Underwood, 'Somethin' Bad.'

“With over a dozen award-winning collaborations with Miranda, I’ve no doubt Trey’s transition into features will be equally successful,” Lambert’s manager, Marion Kraft, says of the film.
