Miranda Lambert is starting the year off with a sassy lyric video for her latest single, "Mama's Broken Heart." The tune, which was co-written by Shane McAnally, Brandy Clark and newcomer Kacey Musgraves, is a one-sided account of the end of a relationship, with the narrator acknowledging her departure from her mother's lady-like behavior to her own more "crazy" reaction. Granted, she notes in the second verse that life might actually be easier if she were more like "a Kennedy when Camelot went down in flames."

While this is technically a lyric video, the clip does include several shots of a jilted lover, whose journey follows the song's tale. This brunette beauty can be seen cutting her bangs with "some rusty kitchen scissors" as the lyrics appear on the screen, written in black and red ransom-note-on-the-bathroom-mirror style. As the story progresses, so does the animation, depicting everything from the character's prim and proper pearls to the bullets for her gun. See if her matches do any harm in the video below.
