Miranda Lambert is rapidly climbing the charts with her latest single, 'Baggage Claim.' The Top 20 single, which earned the singer her highest-ever chart debut, is one she's proud to have had a share in penning.

"I wrote this song with Natalie Hemby (pictured left with Miranda) and Luke Laird," she tells CMIL. "It's really fun to write with someone like Luke because he has really cool grooves and he's a great guitar player."

The reigning ACM Top Female Vocalist admits that she prefers to collaborate with writers who are gifted in an area she says she isn't -- playing instruments. "You're limited with me, because I can only play a certain amount of chords and I'm not a great guitar player at all," Miranda acknowledges. "Writing with somebody that can play guitar really well gives you a whole new playing field."

The song actually began without Miranda. Natalie, whose previous co-writing credits with the singer include 'White Liar' and 'Dead Flowers,' was already in a writing session with Luke ['Last Name,' 'A Little Bit Stronger'], when they opted to invite the 27-year-old to join them.

"They decided to bring me in on the song," recalls Blake Shelton's new bride. "They already had the idea, the verse and half the chorus and I came in and put my edge on it ... It's fun. It's different than anything I've done and I'm getting a great response."

In addition to anticipating the release of her fourth studio album, 'Four the Record,' on November 1, Miranda is also busy promoting her new group, Pistol Annies, who celebrated their debut release 'Hell on Heels' this week.

"There's really two things we are about: being honest and being strong in your womanhood," Miranda tells The Boot of the new trio, which includes Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley. "It's kind of the theme of what we are individually and what we are together."

The songbird recently announced the final leg for her widely successful Revolution tour. She heads back out on September 8 in Terre Haute, Ind., and will wind through the country before wrapping up on October 22 in Jonesboro, Ark. See her tour schedule here.
