ABC has announced that the First Lady of the United States will make a special guest appearance on an upcoming episode of 'Nashville.'

The network announced Michelle Obama's guest spot on the hit show in a press release on Friday (April 18). Mrs. Obama will appear as herself in an episode titled 'All or Nothing With Me,' in which country star Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton) organizes a charity concert at Fort Campbell after finding out that Luke Wheeler (Will Chase) has been injured in Afghanistan, forcing him to cut his tour short.

Country star Kellie Pickler -- an avid supporter of the military in real life -- will also appear as herself in the episode, which is slated to air on Wednesday, May 7.

The news comes as the future of the show hangs in the balance, as no announcement has yet been made as to whether it will be renewed for a third season.

'Nashville' cast members Charles Esten (Deacon Claybourne), Clare Bowen (Scarlett O’Connor), Jonathan Jackson (Avery Barkley), Sam Palladio (Gunnar Scott) and Chris Carmack (Will Lexington) are slated to embark on a short tour beginning April 25 at Joe’s Bar in Chicago. Will Chase will join his cast mates for a show in New York City.
