Michael Tyler is more than just friends with LoCash: The rising star and the hitmaking duo are labelmates, on Reviver Records; in fact, LoCash's success with the label helped bring in Tyler.

"Preston [Brust] and Chris [Lucas] from LoCash signed with them, and that’s how I found out about Reviver Records," Tyler tells The Boot. "[Reviver] came to a rehearsal one day, and they watched us rehearse; I started talking to them and started liking them.

"They’re really cool," he adds. "They love music, and they believe in me."

Tyler, whose debut album, 317, was released on Friday (March 17), has already found success as a songwriter: He's penned hits such as Dierks Bentley's "Somewhere on a Beach" and Jake Owen's "Real Life," among others. So when labels found out that he was also interested in a career as an artist, he found himself fortunate enough to have several record companies pursuing him.

"But the reason I went with Reviver is because they believe in every aspect of what I do," Tyler explains. "They’re music fans more than anyone I know."

As for LoCash, Tyler's also become their tourmate: The duo invited him to serve as their opening act on their Ones to Watch Tour, which kicked off in the fall and runs through April.

"Touring with LoCash has been one of the most educational and fun experiences I’ve ever had," admits Tyler. "I’ve known them for years. To see them getting up onstage and sing to a whole sold-out crowd, with the whole sold-out crowd singing back to them every word of their two No. 1s and other songs -- it’s awesome to watch that. It’s mega motivation, so I’m glad that I’m out there with them and getting to see this process."

317 is available for purhcase on Amazon and iTunes. A list of all of Tyler's upcoming shows is available on his website.
