Michael Martin Murphey is set to appear on NPR's 'Mountain Stage' on May 9.

Murphey will be on the program, which will air on local affiliates accross the country, with Solas, Sean Keane, Mark Mulcahy and Logan Brill. Local stations and air times can be found at MountainStage.org.

Murphey's most recent album, 'Red River Drifter,' features influences from country, blues, bluegrass, pop and western.

“What I’ve written over the years has always reflected what was influencing me at the time,” Murphey says in a press release. “This album is a return to those days when I was influenced by everything. Right now, some really interesting, intricate melodies are coming to me.”

Murphey is also planning a DVD release of his April 4 show at the Franklin Theater south of Nashville. He played to a sold out crowd, which was taped by students from nearby Middle Tennessee State University.
