The Voice's Season 8 finale on Tuesday night (May 19) was a star-studded event that included appearances from numerous major artists, Kelly Clarkson among them. The country-pop singer took the stage with Meghan Linsey to perform Clarkson's new single, "Invincible."

Linsey and Clarkson traded lines throughout the song and harmonized with each other, their powerful, soulful voices blending beautifully on lyrics like "Beat down on me, beat down like a waterfall / 'Cause I can take on so much more than I had ever dreamed / So beat down on me, beat down like a waterfall / Cause baby, I am ready to be free."

The empowering tune was a fitting choice for Linsey to perform during The Voice finale, as the singer says that her journey on this season of the singing competition TV show has taught her that she's capable of doing a whole lot in her music career.

"I was in a country duo forever with another person. So to be out here on my own and do my own thing and [be] trying new things and genres, it’s been really good for me to realize that I can do this on my own, and it’s instilled a lot of confidence in me, as a performer and an artist," Linsey says. "It’s been a really good experience, overall, and I definitely think it’s shown me what I’m made of and that anything is possible.”

Linsey was announced as the runner-up at the end of the finale, taking second place to Sawyer Fredericks.
