Martina McBride experiences some of the same extreme highs and lows as other parents of teenage daughters, and the singer literally beams when she talks about all three of her children -- Delaney, 16, Emma, 13 (pictured left with Martina), and Ava, 5. As a mother, she feels teaching her children right from wrong and giving them the tools to deal with what life throws at them is something to take pride in, at the same time witnessing her daughters becoming individuals.

"The best part is seeing my kids grow and become individuals, and the fact that they're happy and well-adjusted," Martina tells The Boot. "When I see how they handle situations, I feel really proud of them, and that pride is such a great thing."

There is a flip side to being a parent, however, when you feel you're not such a great parent on a particular day. "The worst part would be -- none of us are perfect. So, there are days when I'm a really fantastic mother, [laughs] where I wish the cameras were rolling. It's 'I've really got it all together today.' And there are times when I don't get it right. That's the thing. You don't have a handbook really, you're just kind of winging it and trying to figure it out as you go along. We all come to it with our own life experiences. So, if I ever maybe snap at them or make them feel bad for some reason or another or lose my patience, that makes me feel bad. I think that's a mother's guilt; that's another universal theme, which we probably need to write a song about. [laughs] It just never goes away. It's just is part of being a mother ... the hardest part."

"It's so much fun, actually," Martina adds. "We have our moments, but generally speaking, I got really lucky. The girls are so fun and sweet and respectful, and they're just really good girls."

Martina, whose single 'Teenage Daughters' is quickly climbing the country charts, will release her forthcoming, as-yet-untitled, album August 23.
