Martina McBride knows a thing or two about being a parent. The married mom of three girls (Delaney, 19, Emma, 15 and Ava, eight) says she has no doubt Kelly Clarkson will excel in her new role when she gives birth to her own daughter later this year.

"She's really fun. Kelly's outgoing and very direct and I feel like she'll be a fun mom," McBride tells People magazine.

The 47-year-old continues to sing the former 'American Idol' winner's praises. "She has a really good head on her shoulders and she's a strong person," McBride adds. "I think that will be good for her and her child as well."

Clarkson, who admits she has been battling nausea throughout her pregnancy, did get to focus on something more pleasant last month, thanks to McBride.

"Recorded a soulful song with @martinamcbride and I have to say, it's pretty bad ass," Clarkson tweeted. "A nice distraction from being pregnant! Thanks girl!"

The song was most likely for McBride's upcoming 'Everlasting' album, which is a collection of cover songs that will be released on April 8.

Clarkson, who married Brandon Blackstock in November, is due in June. She is rumored to be releasing a new album of her own this spring.
