Martina McBride has a goal for 2012: get in better shape. The 'I'm Gonna Love You Through It' singer admits she may have slacked off a little for the holidays, but plans on returning to tip-top shape -- and hopes fans hold her accountable!

"So this is the time of year when, typically, we start talking about a fresh start, resolutions, making plans for the year and all that," Martina writes on her blog. "We look back over the past year, reliving the high spots, looking at all the 'best of' lists and thinking about how we can do it all better in the year to come. But, honestly, I am tired and a little 'blah.'

"I'm trying to figure out if it's a let down from the high of all the Christmas and New Year's excitement?," she continues. "Or if I am just toxic and out of shape from all the indulging I have done over the holidays. Because, let's face it, the holidays are really just a time (for most of us) when we say 'to heck with it' and let it all hang loose. Literally."

Martina notes that letting it all "hang loose" means wearing baggy, shapeless clothing starting at Thanksgiving and continuing through the first week of January, by which time she resolves to get back to a healthier regime.

"Which, for me," she explains, "means making healthy choices about food, starting a workout program, saying no to that 2nd (ok, maybe 3rd) glass of wine, and trying to get more sleep. I know, without a doubt, that as fun as it's been to just let it all go, I will definitely have more energy and feel better in the next two weeks. Now that's something to look forward to!"

Something else the superstar performer has to look forward to (which will also require being in top physical condition!) is touring with George Strait at the end of the month. In spite of spending time away from her family, Martina is thrilled to be on tour with the legendary entertainer.

"He's such an icon and so well-loved," Martina tells The Boot. "I'm just gonna go out and do my part and play my music for my fans, then I'm gonna go out and watch his show every night."

The tour kicks off on January 27 in Lafayette, La. -- ten days after the compilation CD, 'Hits and More,' hits shelves. Keep track of Martina's tour schedule here.
