Martina McBride is cooking up more than just new music in 2014.  The singer has also announced she will release her first cookbook, 'Around the Table,' later this year.

“I have a passion for food and entertaining and I’m so excited to be putting everything I love onto the pages of my new book," she says.

The full-color illustrated book features several of her favorite entertaining ideas, including a night of Mistletoe and Martinis and a Retro Valentine's Day Supper Club, as well as her own tips for cooking, decorating and menu planning while taking care of her three daughters and meeting the demands of her busy career.

The 47-year-old might love to spend time in the kitchen, but she makes it clear that it still takes her entire focus to whip up a tasty dish.

“It’s terrible! I can have no distractions when I’m cooking,” Martina admits to The Boot. “I’ve only recently reached the point where I can listen to music and cook.”

Still, McBride, who cooked on TV for a segment of ABC's talk show, 'The Chew,' hints she might follow in Trisha Yearwood's footsteps and have her own show on the Food Network someday.

“I’ve always wanted to be on a cooking show,” she reveals. “Pretty bowls, beautiful ingredients, a pinch of this, a squeeze of that, some fresh ground pepper and toss it in the oven. All the while talking and being interesting while cooking.”

'Around the Table' will be available on October 7 by William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers. It is available for pre-order here.

McBride's next album, 'Everlasting,' a collection of soulful cover tunes, will be released on April 8. Pre-order the record here.
