Maddie & Tae to Appear on ‘Girl Meets World’

Maddie & Tae are about to parlay their country music fame into a spot on TV. The duo, made up of Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye, will appear as themselves in an upcoming episode of the hit Disney Channel TV show Girl Meets World.

The girls will appear in an episode called "Girl Meets Texas," which is part of a three-part weekend event. In the episode, the show's main character, Riley Matthews (played by Rowan Blanchard), and her friends will travel to Texas, where they will hear Maddie & Tae sing "No Place Like You," a track from their freshman Start Here album. The singers also have another TV appearance coming up soon: Maddie & Tae are nominated for three CMA Awards, for Vocal Duo of the Year, New Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year, the latter for “Girl in a Country Song," and they will be performing during the awards ceremony as well.

"We grew up watching these shows, seeing all the stars — and just getting to go last year was so fun," Dye says. "But to be up for actual awards? For songs that are taken from Maddie’s and my life? That is everything we were dreaming of when we were driving back and forth to Nashville for songwriting weekends when we were 15 years old.”

“This is crazy," Marlow adds, "but great crazy.”

The 2015 CMA Awards will air live from Nashville on Nov. 4 at 8PM ET on ABC. Maddie & Tae's Girl Meets World episode will air on Friday (Oct. 16) at 8:30 PM ET on the Disney Channel.
