Maddie & Tae Announce Fall Headlining Tour
Maddie & Tae are currently crossing the country as one of the opening acts on Dierks Bentley‘s 2015 Sounds of Summer Tour, but soon, Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye will be switching to the role of headliner. The two young women have announced plans for their very own headlining tour, the Start Here Tour, taking place this fall.
The 12-date trek begins on Oct. 7 in New York City and wraps up one month later, on Nov. 7, in Chicago. A complete list of dates is below, and ticketing information will be available on Maddie & Tae’s website.
“We are so excited,” Marlow tells The Boot. “We’re actually going to our old stomping grounds: We’re going to Oklahoma, we’re going to Houston, Texas … so [Dye’s] family gets to go, my family gets to go.”
After performing in large venues on Bentley’s tour, the twosome is eager to get up close and personal with their fans again.
“Arenas and amphitheaters are always fun, but the clubs and smaller venues are very intimate,” Marlow adds. “Club Rodeo is one of our favorite places, in San Jose, Calif. It’s very small and intimate, but it’s so much fun because you can interact with the fans.”
The “Girl in a Country Song” singers say that they’ve been taking plenty of notes from their current tour boss.
“It’s really cool because we get to kind of feel like Dierks feels, but on a much smaller level,” Dye says. “But still, we get to feel like the top dog.”
Adds Marlow, “[Bentley] is so fun, too, because he’s so humble, and there’s no ego. All he’s doing is, he is going out and playing his music, staying true to who he is as an artist, but it’s also lifting us up and showing us how to be that.
“And he treats the opening acts so well,” she continues. “I hope that, if we ever get to that level, when we ever get to that level, that we treat our opening acts the exact same way that he treats others. That’s going to be my goal, whenever we get there.”
Maddie & Tae will have plenty of new material to play for their fans on their fall trek as well: Their debut album, Start Here, is set for release on Aug. 28.
