Luke Bryan is working on his upcoming campaign for next month's CMA Awards, where he is nominated for New Artist of the Year, alongside Easton Corbin, Jerrod Niemann, Chris Young and the Zac Brown Band. You may recall the funny clip featuring his buddies Trace Adkins, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Billy Currington and many others telling folks NOT to vote for him for the Top New Artist Award at the ACM Awards earlier this year. But this time, do not expect him to don any spandex to secure votes.

"No leotards this go-around for me," Luke tells The Boot. "We're still in the process of getting a script. We've got a little thing up our sleeve, but it doesn't require any choreography or any tight-fitting clothing, other than my jeans might be tight, but we'll stick with just that. It's just fun to put out a video and bring awareness. And certainly, we had a little success with the ACM 'Don't Vote' campaign, but we've got a few tricks for the CMA thing."

According to Luke, none of the normal smack-talking between the nominees has begun just yet. "That stuff always starts like a week before because we'll see each other, and we'll start talking about busting kneecaps and stuff. [laughs]"

Luke, who is climbing the country charts with 'Someone Else Calling You Baby,' rejoins Jason Aldean on tour in Waco, Texas, Thursday, October 7.
