Luke Bryan had a special surprise for his fellow performer and longtime buddy Blake Shelton on the third night of the annual Crash My Playa festival: Bryan appeared onstage dressed as '90s-era Shelton, complete with a cowboy hat, oversized belt buckle, a Smithworks Vodka plastic cup and mullet.

In an Instagram post, Bryan's wife Caroline captured the final "Blake Bryan" look, complete with her own life jacket that reads "Sexiest Man Alive."

To complete the '90s aesthetic, Bryan joined Shelton during his headlining set for a round of throwback country covers, including "All My Ex's Live in Texas" by George Strait, "Papa Loved Mama" by Garth Brooks and "Small Town Saturday Night" by Hal Ketchum. The singers clearly love being onstage together, and they kept the party going for over an hour.

The pair have a history of trolling each other: After Bryan released his 2017 album What Makes You Country, Shelton took to Instagram to ask the question: What is it that makes Luke Bryan country, anyway?

"Really the only thing I can come up with is ... he looks inbred," the singer deadpans.

Gwen Stefani also made an appearance during Shelton's Jan. 19 Crash My Playa set, to perform her hit "Hollaback Girl." The festival, a four-day party set in Riviera Maya, Mexico, featured artists such as Sam Hunt, Maren Morris, Dustin Lynch, the Cadillac Three and many more. Bryan and Shelton took turns headlining the festival.
