Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real have been on the road non-stop in 2013, with stops at South-by-Southwest, Lollapalooza, Farm Aid, Petty Fest Austin, Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnic, Gathering of the Vibes and the High Sierra Music Festival.

Nelson also appeared with his father, Willie Nelson, and younger brother Micah in the John Varvatos Fall/Winter 2013 ad campaign, and performed with P.O.T.R at the John Varvatos Bowery Live concert in September.

2013 may be coming to an end, but Nelson and P.O.T.R aren't slowing down. They have more tour stops planned over the next couple months, as well as the release of their third album, produced by Mark Howard.

They also put out an EP of demo recordings from 2012, ‘I Ain’t Mad Anymore,’ that they released to fans free of charge. The project includes contributions from talented family and friends like bassist Rick Rosas (Neil Young, Joe Walsh), songwriter and session organist Spooner Oldham, Micah Nelson and Willie Nelson.

"The session was really raw and soulful, and had a beautiful vibe,"  Nelson says in a press release. "So rather than going through the production steps with these we felt it best to share them in their original forms."

"There are no egos in this band," adds drummer Anthony LoGerfo. "The concept of the band is just to be honest and pure... and eventually have a large band family like his dad's."

The band spent the busy summer nurturing their "band family." According to bassist Corey McCormic, the stage remains ego-free, and Nelson agrees.

"I know I'm fronting the band, but I gotta tell you -- every one of my band members has an incredible back story that's just as interesting as mine," he says.
