Loretta Lynn Hospitalized Following Stroke
Loretta Lynn suffered a stroke on Thursday night (May 4) and is hospitalized. However, she is responsive and expected to make a full recovery.
Lynn’s official website reports that Lynn’s stroke occurred at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tenn.; her publicist confirmed the news to Billboard. Both sources report that the country icon was admitted to a Nashville hospital following the stroke.
Lynn, 85, is “currently under medical care and is responsive and expected to make a full recovery,” her website reports.

Given her stroke, doctors have advised Lynn to stay off the road while recuperating, so all of her upcoming shows have been postponed.
Lynn’s concert calendar contained a number of tour dates from May until mid-November. Fans can check her website for updates on when shows will be rescheduled.
Lynn celebrated her 85th birthday on April 14. On Aug. 18, she will release a brand-new album, Wouldn’t It Be Great; the following week, on Aug. 25, an exhibit about Lynn will open at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
