Lee Brice is making his way up the country charts with his latest hit, 'Beautiful Every Time,' and in co-writing the song, he lists several things that are beautiful to him, including "a momma kneeling, a Key West sunset sky ... the chills I get when you lay your lips on mine."

Lee has several more beautiful things on his personal list, however, that didn't make it into his hit song.

"I find some good food beautiful," Lee tells The Boot with a laugh. "Good food, food and friends, really. It's not just food, but it's food and friends. Just like over Christmas, it was freezing cold and snowing, the water was frozen, and I'm in a boat going up in the woods to stay out in the cold for four days. I know that doesn't sound appealing maybe, but I was there with my brother and my two best friends to camp and duck hunt. We're sitting around that fire, and I remember 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes at night would go buy and there's six or eight guys sitting around a fire and haven't said a word. Totally comfortable, just chilling and not saying a word. [laughs] And that's a beautiful thing." The tunesmith even had a little kitchen set up where he cooked nearly every meal for his buddies. He writes, he sings, he plays guitar ... and he cooks? That's beautiful to us!

He also has a few other items he finds beautiful, including his young son, Takoda. "When I'm on stage and I'm singing 'Love Like Crazy,' and people are singing it so loudly, I can't hear. My ears are ringing, so that's what I think of every time I sing that song," says Lee. "And my little boy is beautiful. He's 2 1/2, and every day it's a new word. He's repeating every word you're saying, and doing something new ... having conversations now with a two-and-a-half-year-old. That's beautiful! It makes you want to kind of get off the road and be there all the time. That's the only thing that really sucks about being on the road this year is he's really going through an age where I want to be there all the time. But we're making do and doing the best we can."

While Lee can call himself a singer, songwriter and performer, one of the most beautiful things he hears is his new title. "Daddy, my daddy," the South Carolina native grins. "[Takoda's] momma told me he'll play guitar, and he'll go, 'All done.' The other day she happened to say, 'Well, you sound just like your daddy.' He was singing songs and playing guitar. Now, he'll go, 'All done,' and she'll say, 'Alright, put it away.' And he'll say, 'No! I sound just like my daddy!' [laughs] Since he was born, she's been playing my videos or she'll YouTube me. Any time he sees a guitar, he says, 'Daddy, my daddy,' even if I'm not there. She does a great job."

Lee, who is nominated for a few ACM Awards, will perform his hits 'Love Like Crazy' and 'Beautiful Every Time' when he hits the stage in Mobile, Ala., on February 17. For more information on Lee's upcoming tour dates, click here.
