When Brooks & Dunn announced they were going to go their separate ways after 20 years of making music culminating with their final tour this year, many were shocked and saddened at the news. Lee Ann Womack, for one, was certainly taken aback, but says she is not going to say goodbye just yet, if ever.

"I'm not much on goodbyes," Lee Ann tells The Boot. "I never have been. When I hang up the phone, I don't say goodbye. I just hang up the phone. I don't like the word 'goodbye.' There's just something weird about it for me. I always look at an ending as a new beginning, and I think that's the way they're looking at it."

While she cannot say farewell, Lee Ann is looking forward to the pair's separate musical futures. "I always look at an ending as a new beginning, and I think that's the way they're looking at it." she explains. "We'll hear music from both of them forever in one form or another. There's a part of me that wants to go do a band thing, wants to do a duet thing with this act, just making music, so I'm kind of excited about hearing new music and different stuff from both of them."

All the Texas native knows is that she will continue to hang out with both of them. "I love Kix, I love Ronnie, and I'm good friends with both of them," says Lee Ann. "In fact, we're about to get on a plane and go on vacation with Ronnie and [Ronnie's wife] Janine, and I just cannot tell you how much I love them!"

In the midst of touring with George Strait and Reba McEntire, Lee Ann is making her own music for her next album. The upcoming project's first single is the poignant tune, 'There Is a God.'
