Kris Kristofferson and Toby Keith, who have both spent much of the past week vehemently denying any sort of feud between the two of them, have each reportedly pulled out of a movie that they were planning on appearing in together.

The two country star/actors were supposed to star in 'Provinces of Night,' a movie about a man who roams the country for two decades before coming back to his home state of Tennessee.

Kristofferson's reasons for backing out are unknown. Keith is blaming scheduling conflicts, as he has committed to playing for troops in Afghanistan. An avid supporter of the military, he's pumped up for the trip.

"I don't know where in Afghanistan. They keep that from us until the last minute," Keith tells VegasDeluxe.com. "I do three shows a day ... The night shows are at the biggest bases, and they've never let us do that before. I go out on the front lines and then come in at night and play with the band."

Shooting for 'Provinces of Night' will continue, with Hilary Duff confirmed in a supporting role. Speculation is that Val Kilmer and Dwight Yoakam will replace Keith and Kristofferson.

Keith and Kristofferson made headlines this week after actor Ethan Hawke wrote an article in Rolling Stone magazine, detailing an alleged altercation between the two musicians at Willie Nelson's birthday bash six years ago. Keith and Kristofferson insist Hawke's recollection is false. Read the full story of the controversy here.
