Black River Entertainment have announced that Kelsea Ballerini has been added to their artist roster. Ballerini got the news at the company's Christmas party.

“One of the things about being here in Nashville is that we can invest in people’s lives,” Black River CEO Gordon Kerr says in a press release. “We already knew Kelsea was an artist, she already knew that she was an artist. Our job is to make sure the world knows she’s an artist.”

Ballerini's receipt of the news was captured on video at the party, where she unwrapped her gift at Kerr's urging. Inside was an announcement that she excitedly read to those present. "I am now an official Black River artist!" she exclaimed.

“There’s nothing that I love more than music, and there’s no group of people that I would rather move forward and share my dream with than Black River Entertainment," she said after getting the news. "So thank you. I’m so excited, let’s do this! This is so fun!”

The company's staff have high hopes for their new signing. “She is a true writer/artist,” says Black River’s VP of A&R, Doug Johnson. “She walks into the room and you know, she was born to write music and share it with the world. She will not take no for an answer, period. I love it.”
