Congratulations are in order for Kellie Pickler! The country star married songwriter Kyle Jacobs on New Year's Day on a private island in the Caribbean. The wedding venue continues the theme that Kyle started when he proposed during a romantic picnic on a Florida beach in June 2010.

"He is very talented," Kellie told The Boot of her new husband, whom she dated for three years before tying the knot. "I have so much faith and belief in him. I think he's going to be around for a long time in the songwriting industry. It's great when you are able to write with someone you are also in a relationship with and have intimacy with. We have so much in common. It's nice to take our love into the studio. He's such a wonderful person."

Kyle popped the question June 15, the birthday of Kellie's deceased grandmother, making what would have been a sad day into one of the happiest days of the singer's life. "I remember saying to Kyle, 'Baby it's like I'm dreaming -- but if this isn't real, I'm going to be very upset!'" Kellie told People magazine.

The couple met shortly after the 'American Idol' finalist broke up with Nashville Predators player Jordon Tootoo in 2007.

Kellie's new hubby shares co-writing credits on Garth Brooks' 'More Than a Memory,' Tim McGraw's 'Still' and 'American Idol' finalist Kimberly Locke's hit, '8th World Wonder,' as well as album cuts by Trace Adkins, Jo Dee Messina, Clay Walker and, of course, Kellie.

January 1 was a popular day for country wedding bells. Shania Twain was also married on the first day of 2011, walking down a sandy aisle on a Puerto Rico beach to wed Frederic Thiebaud.
