Despite all of his success, Keith Urban says that he didn't make it very far in school.

Urban is certainly good with words today -- in addition to singing some of country's biggest hits, he is a songwriter and speaker -- but those skills probably didn't come from his schooling while growing up in Australia.

“I quit school at 15!” Urban says. “I was hopeless at school. I was out. I would’ve left sooner if I could, but you’ve gotta legally stay ’til you’re 15."

Urban is quick to point out that his experience and success doesn't mean that he's an advocate for quitting school early.

“Look, I’m always very careful to not have parents think I support kids leaving school at a young age, ’cause I don’t necessarily,” he says. “All I can speak is my own experience is that I -- the biggest education I got was when I hit the road and got life’s education. That was everything school didn’t have to teach me at the time.”

That education continues as Urban travels the world. His Raise 'Em Up Tour with Jerrod Niemann and Brett Eldredge will hit cities in the US and Canada beginning in July in Calgary, Alberta.
