Keith Urban isn't wasting any time when it comes to sharing his new music. After announcing on Wednesday (Jan. 17) that he'll be releasing a new album, Graffiti U, sometime in 2018, the country superstar dropped one of his brand-new songs, "Parallel Line," on Friday (Jan. 19). Readers can press play above to hear the track.

"Parallel Line" is a single in Australia only. Urban was teasing the song's release on social media earlier in the week, and even performed the track during his pop-up show in Nashville on Wednesday night. The track is a slow, soulful love song in which Urban explains that he's ready to fully open himself up to love: "It's time to close the space between the two of us," he sings in one verse.

"Take a little bit of my heart tonight / No, I literally don't mind / Just please don't misplace it," Urban sings in the chorus of "Parallel Line." "Take a little bit of my heart tonight / Baby, be mine now / Baby, be mine now / Maybe it's time we / Put our hearts in a parallel line."

Urban's most recent U.S. single, "Female," was released in early November. At the time, the singer shared that the song was not necessarily going to part of his next record, or indicative that a new album was on the way, but over the summer, the country star revealed that he was in the studio.

Urban last released a new album, Ripcord, in May of 2016; he's spent the months since promoting the project and releasing hit singles from the record. Urban's most recent single from that disc is “The Fighter,” a call-and-response-style duet featuring Carrie Underwood. Although the two have performed the song live together a number of times, Urban has also found unique ways to fill in Underwood’s parts when he’s alone.

Urban spent the latter half of 2016 out on the road for his Ripcord World Tour, with Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris as his special guests; he also toured in Australia and New Zealand near the end of 2016, with Underwood.

Whenever Urban releases Graffiti U, it will be his 10th solo studio album. In addition to releasing the new project, Urban will be spending 2018 on the road for his Graffiti U World Tour.
