San Francisco-based singer-songwriter Katie Garibaldi's new song "I Am" is exclusively premiering on The Boot. The tune is one for those who feel lonely, weak, tired or frustrated -- and it's a reminder that even on the darkest days, there is hope.

Garibaldi, an Americana artist, wrote "I Am" from a spiritual perspective, but she says that the track can also be "viewed as a love song to those who connect with it in that sense." And, if you listen from that viewpoint, it definitely brings comfort; lyrics such as "When you realize I'm not leaving your side / Even when you're alone, you will never be alone" offer a huge amount of relief.

"I wrote "I Am" from the perspective of God talking to me," Garibaldi tells The Boot. "This was another moment when I wrote from a weak state of mind, but the song turned that around to become a strong message.

"I was feeling stuck, frustrated and alone. I couldn’t focus on what I was doing, so I grabbed my guitar and sat in a sunspot on the floor, and this song just came out," she recalls. "When I wrote the lyrics and re-read them, I knew I was merely a vessel for God to deliver this song and this message to me."

Garibaldi is no stranger to music: She began playing guitar at the age of 11 and performed at coffee shops and retirement homes around the San Francisco Bay area in her teens. In 2006, she launched her own record label, Living Dream Music, and has released several records in the years since. Garibaldi's next album, Rooted Clarity, is set for release on June 3.

The artist has several upcoming shows planned in Nashville, California and New York. For information on Garibaldi's concerts, visit her official website.
