Julianne Hough Takes ACM Top New Artist
A two-time 'Dancing With the Stars' winner is now a first-time ACM Award winner, as Julianne Hough takes home honors of Top New Artist. The 20-year-old beauty had a mix of laughter and tears as she took the stage to accept the award, due to a slight wardrobe malfunction.
"It's a good thing I ripped my dress, because now I have something else to think about," she said with a laugh. "Everybody who has followed and believed in me -- and I can't thank you enough, especially to the fans."
Hough beat Jake Owen and the Zac Brown Band for the award -- one of two trophies at the ACMs that were fan-voted. The Entertainer of the Year will also be given to the nominee with the most votes cast online by fans.
