Julianne Hough Wants ‘Footloose’ Co-Star to Be ‘Rough’
Julianne Hough's 'Footloose' co-star Chace Crawford has announced he's dropping out of the film project due to scheduling conflicts. And while scheduling has been an issue for her as well, Julianne says she's definitely still part of the cast.
"It's been such a back-and-forth thing with scheduling and everything," Julianne tells VH1. "I understand Chace's schedule was off. My schedule's almost off. It's still working its way through things."
Julianne adds that she a nationwide casting search is on to fill the part of Ren, and she would really like to see Chace replaced with a certain type of leading man. "Somebody edgy and a little rough!" she says.
The 1984 remake was originally slated to be directed by Kenny Ortega, who also had to drop out. Screenwriter Craig Brewer has now stepped in to direct. Julianne, who has a new single out in June, will hit the road with Sugarland later this year.
