Josh ThompsonJosh Thompson, James Otto, and Jaron and the Long Road to Love helped Tulsa country radio station KVOO kick off their summer concert series last week at the historic Cain's Ballroom.

Josh took the stage, beer cup held high, as he strapped on his guitar just as fired up as the crowd. He opened his set with fan favorite 'Blame it on Waylon' from his debut album, 'Way out Here.' To give even more tribute to his hero, Waylon Jennings, Josh weaved in the late singer's hit 'Lonesome, On'ry and Mean.'

Josh was clearly in his element from the minute he took the stage. It is obvious that this man loves what he is able to do night after night. On the final downbeat of the tune, Josh flung his arms up in the air as the crowds' cheering increased. With a broad smile across his handsome face, Josh rolled right into album track 'You Ain't Seen Country Yet,' as he continued to make that personal connection with every fan in the crowd.

Not wasting any time, Josh and his band continued along with their set by playing the honest 'Always Been Me,' which Josh sang passionately. Clenching his fist against his chest and the side of his guitar, Josh has lived every word he sings.

"This is one of my favorite songs on the record because it's a waltz and about heartbreak," Josh said as he introduced the beautiful 'I Won't Go Crazy.'

Without letting much time slip between songs, Josh paid tribute to another one of his singing heroes, Merle Haggard, with his rendition of 'Okie from Muskogee.'

"I'd like to thank you guys for calling your radio station and requesting this next song," Josh said as he introduced his latest single, 'Way out Here.' "This song goes out to everyone who still believes in the bible, John Wayne, Johnny Cash and John Deere."

The crowd continued to pump their fists along to the music and in their other hands held their beer bottles high as Josh sang every word with pure emotion. As the music faded out, Josh saluted the crowd as he sincerely thanked them.

"I appreciate the hell out of you guys," Josh said following the song. "Thank you for supporting good country music." He went on to play his "favorite" album track, 'Sinner,' followed by a new tune, 'Back at Home.'

"Hell yeah!" Josh exclaimed over the cheering crowd. "Let's keep this party rollin'!"

He wrapped up his set by playing 'A Name in This Town,' 'I Won't Be Lonely Long,' and of course, his debut hit, 'Beer on the Table.'

James Otto"Tulsa are you ready to do this thing?" James said as he got the "Otto-show" underway with 'These Are the Good Ole Days.' He kept the soulful vibe happening as he sang 'Lover Man,' slowly rocking his hips along with the music. He stepped toward the edge of the stage while he played an impressive guitar solo.

"Well, it feels like summertime to me, and I've got a new single called 'Groovy Little Summer Song,'" James announced while his band began playing the opening notes. He romanced the fans with his sexy moves, flawless guitar and vocals.

"How about a little rock 'n' roll?" James smiled as he did a sensual cover of Bob Seger's 'Night Moves.' He followed it with 'Shake What God Gave You,' which had plenty of the signature sound and style that is James Otto music all the way.

"We're going to play you some country soul from way back from one of my favorite singers, Ronnie Milsap," James declared prior to doing his version of the classic, 'There Ain't No Getting Over Me.' He followed with Kris Kristofferson's 'Help Me Make it Through the Night,' which had fans swooning along to the lyrics, wrapped up in the music, and in their own little world with their dates.

He continued to play fan favorites as well as newer songs such as 'Soldiers and Jesus,' which had the crowd hanging on every word. Everyone knew what was coming as he brought his show to the end. He played his first ever No. 1 hit, 'Just Got Started Lovin' You,' as the entire room came to their feet.

Jaron and the Long Road to Love got the night started with an acoustic set, giving fans a sneak peek of the new music they can expect on his 'Getting Dressed in the Dark' album in stores later this month. "This is a great crowd!" he said as he strapped on his guitar and kicked off the evening with 'Beat Back Love.'

"So a few years back I was in a duo band with my twin brother," Jaron said following his opening number. "We had this song on the radio ... if you know it you can sing along!" He then sang a beautiful rendition of his Top 15 hit, 'Crazy for This Girl,' released by Evan and Jaron in 2000.

He switched gears from strumming his guitar to playing keyboards as he introduced 'Without Her Leaving,' another song that can be found on his upcoming album.

His blue eyes twinkled in the spotlight as Jaron began introducing the next song. "When you've in a relationship, everything is so cute," he said smiling. "After a while, it becomes really annoying, but if you stick around long enough, all those quirky things become beautiful. I'm singing this next song for the ladies ... sorry guys!"

After the tender 'That's Beautiful to Me,' Jaron performed a fun and lively cover of the Tina Turner classic 'What's Love Got to Do With It.'

"I've got time for one more song," Jaron said as he gazed over the crowd as they exploded with excitement from knowing what was next to come. "Thank you guys also for admitting that at some point in your lives, you've wished something bad to someone else. It's not nice, but it's honest!"

As he got into the first chorus of his current hit, 'Pray for You,' the crowd began singing every word back to him, drowning out the sound of his own vocals. "Unbelievable!" he beamed. "I feel like starting from the top and have you guys sing it back to me!"

He graciously thanked the fans as he exited the stage.
