Louisiana-born Jordan Davis found success with his debut single, "Singles You Up." The track, released in 2017, hit No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart ... but, like every other song, it had to start somewhere.

Davis remembers the moment he heard himself on the radio for the first time -- but he can't exactly share everything about it. Below, he tells The Boot why.

I was in Houston, Texas; I was sitting outside of a Sprouts grocery store, and I was with my radio rep at the time.

She knew that it was coming on, but I had no clue. I had heard it before, knowing it was coming on, which is not the same.

But the first time that I heard it unexpected, she was actually filming me. I wish I could play the video of me, but I kind of wigged out and said some bad words.
