Jon Pardi has selected his next single. "Dirt on My Boots" will make listeners want to go rough up their cowboy boots real quick, only to dance the dirt off!

"Dirt on My Boots" features banjos, guitars and a rock influence. The song opens with Pardi singing about putting in an honest day's work -- "Just two more rows, and I’m good to go / Yeah, I’m shuttin’ this tractor down" -- before taking his girl out for a night on the town.

"Hard as I worked all day / I’m gonna work harder lovin’ on you," Pardi sings in the song's second verse. "Spin you all over that dance floor / Right out of them high-heeled shoes."

Pardi describes "Dirt on My Boots," written by Rhett Akins, Jesse Frasure and Ashley Gorley, as "a very club, honky-tonk kind of song" that he took and made his own.

"The demo was way out there -- like, it was a super hip-hop kind of style -- but I loved the lyrics; the lyrics were so country," Pardi remembers. "I just loved that; that's what really appealed to me ... So we took it and made it more country, and I think it kind of really made a cool sound."

"Dirt on My Boots" was produced by Pardi and Bart Butler. The song appears on Pardi's sophomore album, California Sunrise, which was released in June, and is available on iTunes.
