Joanne Cash is releasing an album of duets, Breaking Down the Barriers, on April 1. The new set of tunes partners Cash with several well-known artists, including Larry Gatlin, George Hamilton IV and T. Graham Brown.

Cash's duet with Hamilton, "On the Rock Where Moses Stood," is Hamilton's last recording; he passed away unexpectedly in September. The sister of the late Johnny Cash also sings with her niece Rosanne Cash and brother Tommy Cash on the 14-track project.

"I'’m amazed that at my age I still want to sing, but it’s like therapy for me," she says. "Johnny always helped me remember that, and he was constantly encouraging. But there was one short phrase from Johnny that’'s always stuck with me, and it’'s one I’'ll continue for as long as I’'m here, ‘'Baby, just keep on singing!’”'"

The lyrics for her song "My Lord Has Gone," with Tommy Cash, were written by the Man in Black before he passed away. Other artists appearing on the album include Christian rockers Kevin Max, John Schlitt, Rick Florian and Dan Haseltine.
