Once again, Jim Ed Brown is in need of his "prayer warriors." His cancer has returned.

Brown's daughter Kim shared the sad news on his Facebook page on Wednesday (June 3).

"This is a prayer request. They worked before, so I am hopeful they will this time, too," she writes. "Dad's cancer has returned (not in his lungs), and he is undergoing chemotherapy. We are hopeful for a positive outcome, but it's a combination of hope and prayers that will get him through this. We all thank you in advance."

Brown first revealed that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer late last September, just weeks after announcing his plans for a new album. His doctors asked him to take four months off from touring to receive treatment.

"I just told them, I said, 'I’ve got me and the Lord and all of my prayer warriors and all of our friends out there. We’re gonna beat it, so you just go on and do what you need to do and get it over with,'" Brown told The Boot. "I think I’ve got the best doctors in Nashville, anyway. There may be some greater ones somewhere else, but I don’t know where they are."

On Jan. 19, Brown was given the "all clear" from his doctors and revealed that his cancer was in remission. In April, he shared that he had officially been declared cancer free.

Brown released his newest record, In Style Again, in January. He, along with his sisters Bonnie and Maxine Brown, will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame later this year.

“I’m as nervous as a mosquito in a nudist colony,” Brown said when learning of his induction. “I know what to do, but I don’t know where to start.”
