Cue the cigars because Jason Isbell and his wife Amanda Shires welcomed their new baby girl into the world!

On Tuesday (Sept. 1), the singer (formerly of Drive-By Truckers) posted a photo of the baby's tiny hand wrapped around his finger. A picture truly says a thousand words, and Isbell simply captioned the photo "Today."

Isbell also shared several other photos and tidbits with fans, including a wry tweet, "Turns out the nurses frown upon any sort of amplification in the hospital rooms. Dumble or not!" Plus, the Alabama native revealed a sweet photo of his singer-songwriter wife and mother-in-law, captioning, "Mom of @amandashires singing 'Amanda' by Boston to make her laugh is my favorite thing right now."

Although the couple hasn't yet revealed their tiny daughter's name, Isbell did celebrate with a cigar, as many new dads do. He also thanked fans for their support and congratulations, confirming that Shires and the baby are "happy and healthy."

Though he's an incredibly in-demand artist, Isbell will take September off, adjusting to life as a family of three, and will return to the road Oct. 1 in Lexington, Ken. His tour will run from the beginning of October into early February, and along with US dates, Isbell is slated to perform in Denmark, Norway, Belgium, France, Great Britian and more.

The singer's fifth record, Something More Than Free, streeted July 17, 2015 and was received with critical acclaim. It is available for download via iTunes and Amazon.
