Jake Owen is undergoing surgery today (Jan. 17) to repair his collarbone, which suffered multiple fractures after a tumble on Friday (Jan. 13). The 'Alone With You' singer was snowboarding in Crested Butte, Colo., during the BMI Songwriter's Festival, when he ran into a 17 inch block of ice.

While Dr. Thomas Dovan says Jake will make a full recovery, the news isn't so good for his January tour dates. "I'm so bummed that I have to postpone some shows but I promise you this, I'll be back out on the road as soon as possible," Jake says. "I probably won't be able to hold a guitar for a while but I can still perform."

As for when that will be, the doc says Jake's rehabilitation progress will determine when he can start performing. However, Jake adds that it will be sooner rather than later. His sold-out shows at Chicago's Joe's Bar -- originally slated for Jan. 18-19 -- have been rescheduled for April 18-19. Additionally, the Jan. 20-21 stops at Harris, Mich.'s Island Resort & Casino have been moved to April 20-21.

Jake first alerted his fans of the situation after being rushed to the emergency room in Crested Butte. He tweeted, "Just broke my collarbone. Guess I charged this mountain a little too hard." He later told GAC's 'Headline Country' host Storme Warren, "Man, it wasn't like I was doing anything crazy. That's why this is such a freak accident but the reality is if you're not falling, you're not learning."

Jake's interview with Storme in Crested Butte, prior to his accident, airs on Thursday (Jan. 19) at 9:00 PM ET.
