Now that Jake Owen has scored his very first No. 1 country album, he joins an elite group, including Pistol Annies, Eric Church and Luke Bryan, who have all within recent weeks celebrated that same achievement. Jake's 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night' tops the country chart with sales of 55,000, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

Jake's previous album, 2009's 'Easy Does It,' peaked at No. 2, and his 2006 debut, 'Startin' With Me,' reached No. 8. 'Barefoot' also debuts on the Billboard 200 at No. 6 this week, marking the singer's highest-ever position on that chart. The album's title track is already a No. 1 smash.

"I knew it would be a hit," Jake tells The Boot of the single. "But I didn't know it would be this big. I don't know what else to base it off of, because I've never had anything like that. I've had hits on the radio, but this is different. I keep telling folks, there's a difference between a hit song and a career song, and this is a career song."

Also notching an impressive debut on the country chart is Glen Campbell's critically-acclaimed 'Ghost on the Canvas.' The disc bows at No. 6, making it the 75-year-old entertainer's 19th Top 10 country album. Announcing it as the final studio album of his career, the Country Music Hall of Fame member recently revealed his battle with Alzheimer's disease and has launched a Goodbye tour to thank his fans for their support. Glen's last Top 10 country disc was 'Southern Nights' in 1977.

Rounding out the Top 5 country albums are CMA award nominees Luke Bryan ('Tailgates & Tanlines, No. 2'); Jason Aldean ('My Kinda Party,' No. 3); Eric Church ('Chief,' No. 4) and Pistol Annies' -- featuring Female Vocalist nominee Miranda Lambert -- 'Hell on Heels' at No. 5.

Next week, expect big numbers from George Strait, whose 'Here for a Good Time' hit stores September 6. The superstar Texan could score his 24th No. 1 country disc of all time. His last two studio albums, 'Twang' and 'Troubadour' also reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 but he faces some stiff competition there from Lil Wayne (No. 1 this week) and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
