Jake Owen Baby Excitement Is Multigenerational

As Jake Owen and his wife, Lacey, anxiously await the arrival of their first born, there are a few other people who cannot wait to meet Baby Girl Owen.

"My parents -- as most parents are -- are very excited about having grandkids," Jake says. "My mom has asked me for years, 'When are you going get married? I want grandbabies.' I told her that it was going to take the right person. I really never thought I'd get married, but a lot of things in my life have happened when I least expected it, and Lacey came into my life at a time when I needed it most -- and needed her the most -- and thankfully she'll be here with me until my dying day."

The couple, who tied the knot in April, will have lots of family to choose from when it comes to finding their new daughter -- who is due next month -- a babysitter.

"My grandparents are super excited about being great-grandparents," the singer adds, "my parents are excited about being grandparents, and I'm excited about being a parent. So there's a lot of cool feelings going around the Owen household these days."

As the parents-to-be prep for their new addition, you can bet that Daddy is getting his hands dirty. "I'm a hands-on guy. Maybe that's a bad thing, I don't know, but I always want to set my living room up the way I want to set my living room up. I want to hang my TV on the wall, because I know where I want it. It's been kind of a stressful thing trying to make myself happy by doing everything I need to do, but at the same time make everyone else happy by fulfilling the obligations that I have to play shows, and then make my wife happy, who wants things done her certain way. It's a big adjustment, but I'm probably the happiest I've ever been in my life. I feel complete. I feel like I don't have anything that's missing in my life."

Before the arrival of his daughter, Jake plans to get a few shows in for fans. He's headed to San Antonio, Texas, on Friday (Nov. 2), followed by a stop in Ft. Worth on Saturday (Nov. 3). See more of his tour dates here.
