Jack Ingram Shares Emotional Moment With Kris Kristofferson

Jack Ingram is used to rubbing elbows with fellow celebrities on the red carpet, but one encounter last night almost made the rugged singer cry.

Meeting legend Kris Kristofferson moments before the CMA Awards last night (Nov. 11), Jack admitted he was still shaking after the legendary singer-songwriter walked away. "There's not a lot of guys that I react to like that," Jack tells Nashville's Tennessean newspaper. "If I really think about what Kristofferson has meant to me, I would tear up. He's why I'm in this business ... That's not true. He's why I make music. I love the guy."

We were standing right next to Jack on the red carpet when it all happened last night, as he'd just given an interview with The Boot ... And it was actually Kris who requested to meet Jack. The icon's publicist approached Jack asking if he'd stop over, explaining that Kris wanted to say hello. Jack's eyes lit up, and the smile on his face was a mile wide.

Jack was recently named one of Country's Sexiest Men, alongside Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson and Brad Paisley. He's currently touring with Gary Allan and the Eli Young Band, in support of his latest album, 'Big Dreams & High Hopes.'
